Tania has spent her 23 year nursing career in adult critical care medicine. While women’s health is quite different than the intensive care world, she was drawn to this area of medicine when she herself experienced surgical menopause. In preparation for the sudden and dramatic loss of hormones, and the physical and mental challenges that can come with it, she educated herself on the treatments available. The education included completing “Confidence in the Menopause” and implementing the strategies outlined with help from fellow co-founder Shannon. Tanya is now thriving in menopause and living life with the same passion and energy she always has. In fact, her success through this process, along with the realization that women are generally poorly supported as they transition through menopause, was the very reason Prosper Menopause was born.
Tania holds a Bachelor of Nursing from Memorial University of Newfoundland. She has continued her education in menopause health with a certification in Confidence in the Menopause from the Newson Health Menopause Society. She is a member of the Canadian Menopause Society, Menopause Foundation of Canada, North American Menopause Society (NAMS), the International Menopause Society and the Newson Health Menopause Society.
Tania is married with two girls and two dogs. She leads a very active life of travel, hiking, and gardening.
